Tired Beyonce gets Perth retail therapy comments (0)

Beyonce Knowles has been spending up big to add some Perth fashion flavour to her wardrobe. She was spotted at Pasion Latina, Leederville, on Friday, where she bought a cream Martini jumpsuit and a simple T-shirt. Store manager Eve Beumer didn't recognise Knowles until streams of people entered the shop, calling the star's name. But Knowles was safe with two bodyguards, an assistant and her mum to protect her. Mrs Beumer said Knowles looked tired from Thursday night's concert at Burswood but she was ``really lovely and really, really humble''. Knowles squeezed in the shopping before leaving Australia to continue her world tour.

There must be something luring Beyonce to Perth suburb Leederville, as she has again visited a number of shops in the area today.
The songstress, who performed at Burswood Dome last night to a packed crowd, has shopped up a storm at clothing store Yo Yo Buffalo this afternoon. According to sources, she was spotted heading to another trendy clothing store Harry and Gretel shortly after. Beyonce was also in Leederville yesterday after grabbing a bite to eat at Julio’s restaurant in Subiaco. Whilst in Leederville she was seen shopping at Atlas clothing and taking in the atmosphere of the alfresco-friendly Oxford St.

Twitter has gone into overdrive with tweets alerting the masses that singing sensation Beyonce Knowles has been spotted in Leederville. One user from the social networking site said the entertainer was shopping in trendy clothing store Atlas on Oxford St. She was also spotted by an onlooker earlier today at Julio's restaurant in Subiaco, but was heavily guarded by security and workers from the eatery. According to Twitter user jessiedee89: “She was wearing a hoody, hotpants and these organge (sic) platform things. Her mamma was with her. Cute!” Another tweet by user GemmaTognini stated: “Just spoke to Beyonce in Leederville. Fact! I thanked her for being so nice to Taylor Swift.” In reference to Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards to announce that Beyonce had the better music video.

Beyonce Knowles has vowed to wear "appropriate" clothing for her controversial show in Malaysia. The singer's scheduled concert in the country's capital Kuala Lumpur on October 25 has been met with anger by Islamic extremists, who claim her sexy outfits and provocative stage routines are "immoral" and will corrupt young people. But the 28-year-old star - who had to pull out of a concert in the country two years ago after the same group, the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, threatened to protest at the show - has agreed to tone down her performance, meaning the concert can go ahead. Show organisers Marctensia said all parties had reached an "amicable understanding".

Beyonce sings Jessica Mauboy's praises comments (0)

Proving yet again that she is as gracious as she is talented, nice gal Beyonce has given our own Jessica Mauboy her seal of approval. While most American superstars rarely deign to even meet the local act on tour, Ms B called Mauboy to her dressing room as soon as the 21-year-old pop princess had finished her opening set of the first show in Melbourne last week. And Ms Knowles had done her homework on the former Australian Idol, asking the 21-year-old about her hometown of Darwin and her cultural heritage, reports Kathy McCabe. Having being told by her crew about Mauboy's powerhouse voice, a hooded Beyonce checked out her performance at the Brisbane concert. Since then Team Beyonce have treated the Aussie singer like one of the family, raving about her voice and offering to co-write or work with her on future videos.

Arriving under the cover of darkness and with a dark hooded jumper pulled over her face, Beyonce Knowles was far from her usual diva persona. Rumoured to have been unwell on the Australian leg of her tour, Knowles made sure her visit to Adelaide was a fleeting one, touching down two hours before she was due on the Adelaide Entertainment Centre stage. Shielding her curvaceous form from prying eyes, Knowles hid behind the hooded jumper when she disembarked from the private plane, servility stepping into a dark Audi with heavily tinted windows But fans soon got to see the powerhouse diva in full flight when the dazzling, yet commanding Knowles made the Adelaide Entertainment Centre her own in an epic near-three hour performance. Some Knowles devotees have paid upwards of $169 to witness the bootilicious diva reel off hits including Crazy in Love, If I Were a Boy and her smash hit from former act Destiny's Child Say My Name.

Beyonce's moving tribute to cancer girl comments (0)
22 Sep 2009 by BorgQueen
Beyonce made a young cancer sufferer's dream come true on Friday, bringing her onstage in Sydney, Australia and dedicating hit song Halo to the girl. The Crazy In Love hitmaker was performing at the city's Acer Arena when she brought the little girl, named only as Chelsea, onto the stage midway through her set. Chelsea, who is suffering from leukaemia, beamed as Beyonce belted out the emotional Halo - and moved the 21,000 sell-out crowd to tears as she sang the lyrics "I pray you won't fade away" repeatedly. Wrapping up the song, the pair embraced in a loving hug, before Chelsea wiped away tears of happiness and left the stage.

Beyonce's belting it out takes a toll on her voice comments (0)
20 Sep 2009 by BorgQueen
Beyonce wowed Sydney over the weekend with her two mega-watt shows but belting out those songs seemed to take a toll on the talented entertainer. Insiders at her Sydney hotel report that the singer, believed to be battling a cold, was a keen fan of the chef's chicken soup to soothe her throat - with the broth being ordered into the singer's room at 2am on Wednesday and Thursday before Friday and Saturday nights' sensational concerts. Meanwhile, the spaghetti bolognaise was a hit with her carb-loading crew of bodyguards. After impressing Sydney concertgoers the stunning singer is set to wow other cities on her 10-day Australian tour.

Beyonce in Polish ToiOwo Sept15 issue

I honestly don't know what's the reason behind posting some fake Polish Beyonce articles at MTO. This time there isn't even one thing that could be called realiable in the MTO report. As you can see (even if you don't know a single word in Polish) the ToiOwo interview doesn't even mention Jay-Z. What is it? Some kind of new way of throwing shade using Poland? SMH

Beyonce to finally perform in Malaysia comments (0)
19 Sep 2009 by BorgQueen
Award-winning singer Beyonce Knowles will perform in conservative Malaysia this month, two years after she cancelled her debut concert amid fears of protests by Muslim groups. The star is scheduled to perform on October 25 at the country's Bukit Jalil national stadium, just outside the capital, organiser Marctensia said on their website. It said the concert was part of Beyonce's "I am..." world tour, which has seen her perform in North America and Europe, the website said. The promoters could not be reached for comment. Organisers of Beyonce's 2007 concert, said the show had been cancelled because of a scheduling conflict but local sources said the main reason was concern over demonstrations from Islamic groups in the mainly Muslim country. Performances by foreign bands frequently come under fire in Malaysia, particularly from the conservative Islamic party PAS. PAS called for Danish band Michael Learns to Rock to be banned from performing earlier this month, saying it was an insult to Muslims during the fasting month of Ramadan. The group managed to perform without incident.

Beyonce Knowles and Sasha Fierce unite Sydney ladies, fans at concert comments (0)
18 Sep 2009 by BorgQueen
The flick of her weave was pure Diana Ross, the strut and her phenomenal pins every inch Tina Turner, but last night Beyonce Knowles _ and her stage alter ego Sasha Fierce _ made Acer Arena her own. The moment the wind machine caught her first curl and the spotlight turned her crystal-corsetted body into a human disco ball, it was clear the world's best female performer was in the house. Telling the Sydney crowd her "special purpose was to empower women'', there wasn't a single lady, or married one for that matter, who was not entirely on board the Beyonce soul train. The all-woman band somehow kept pace with this force of nature who swept on stage to Crazy in Love and almost three hours later _ seemingly without drawing breath _ left the audience panting and spent.

Beyonce too much for Suri Cruise comments (0)
17 Sep 2009 by BorgQueen
Suri Cruise may be well travelled and used to celebrity events but her first concert proved a bit too much. The three year old was taken to Beyonce's Melbourne show on Tuesday night by mother Katie Holmes, happily posing for pictures with fans in the venue's general admission area. But when the show started she was clearly distressed by the music and lights, but was apparently much happier after being given industrial earmuffs.

Beyonce sued by Abercrombie & Fitch over fragrance comments (0)
16 Sep 2009 by BorgQueen
The singer Beyonce Knowles has been sued by Abercrombie & Fitch Co over her intent to use its "Fierce" trademark on a fragrance to be launched in early 2010. In a federal lawsuit filed Tuesday in Columbus, Ohio, Abercrombie said Knowles' plan "poses a likelihood of confusion" for consumers that could deprive it of control over a mark it has used since 2002, and perhaps cost it sales. Representatives of Knowles were not immediately available for comment. Abercrombie said it has sold more than $190 million worth of fragrance under the Fierce name, and expects $64 million of sales in 2009. The New Albany, Ohio-based company said the fragrance gives off a "signature" scent that is regularly dispersed in its 350 retail stores through scent machines or by employees.

Beyonce's Dad "Proud" of Way She Handled Kanye Incident comments (0)

Beyonce's father Mathew Knowles is proud of how his daughter, 28, consoled Taylor Swift at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards. After winning video of the year, Beyonce invited Swift on stage to finish her Best Female Video acceptance speech, which Kanye West famously interrupted earlier in the night because he felt Beyonce deserved to win. "It wasn't my decision to bring Taylor out," Mathew Knowles, who also serves as Beyonce's manager, tells Usmagazine.com. "It was all Beyonce's decision. I want to be clear about that. My job is to execute and come up with some ideas, but ultimately that was Beyonce's decision." "I can only say it was a proud night for me as a manager, but more importantly as a father," he adds, noting that daughter Solange performed on the show as well. "I've always said the thing that makes me most proud about Beyonce is not how many records she sold or how many plaques she has or how many awards; it's that she's a genuine good person," he tells Us. "I know it's hard for people to believe that she can really be that nice of a person, but she really is." As for West, 32, he told Jay Leno Monday night that he's taking "some time off" to figure out the reasons behind his behavior. "I am a celebrity and that's just something I'm going to have to deal with," he said.

Beyoncé Plans Fragrance Launch for Spring comments (0)
15 Sep 2009 by BorgQueen
Sasha Fierce has finally succumbed to the temptations of the celebrity fragrance game: Beyoncé Knowles has signed a deal with Coty Inc. to produce her own perfume. Beyoncé’s fragrance — which will be sold in department stores globally — is scheduled to be launched in spring in the Americas, followed by the rest of the world in fall 2010. The deal could be worth up to $20 million for the singer over the next three years, sources estimated. Although the deal may have been a long time coming, it arrived the day after Beyoncé walked away with several awards at the MTV Video Music Awards, including Video of the Year, Best Choreography and Best Editing.

Beyonce shines in Melbourne show at Rod Laver Arena comments (0)
15 Sep 2009 by BorgQueen
Two timezones and one sleep on a longhaul flight after winning the top gong at the MTV VMAs in New York and Beyonce was in full flight on stage in Melbourne. On Sunday's awards we saw the classy side of Beyonce, forfeiting her MTV victory speech to allow country star Taylor Swift finish the acceptance speech serial-award-show-pest Kanye West disrupted. Her sold out Rod Laver Arena show tonight displayed plenty of other sides of Beyonce - from emotionally-charged balladeer to fabric-dodging sexpot. As with her last Australian tour, Beyonce is backed by an all-female band - Suga Mama - who shoehorn in the impressive amount of hits she's enjoyed between her solo career and the band that launched her, Destiny's Child. Beyonce is one of the only true superstars this decade has thrown up - and while she still hasn't made a truly amazing album (but plenty of truly amazing singles) - it's in the live arena she really shines.
