Beyonce was busy filming a new music video on Sunday (International Women's Day) afternoon in NYC's Tribeca neighborhood. Beyonce filmed a scene where she walked down an alleyway followed by a group of men in black suits. At one point the group was overheard chanting Africa. Beyonce Knowles is constantly annoying her rapper husband Jay-Z because she creates such a mess in their New York home. The superstar couple resides in Jay-Z's luxury Manhattan apartment, but the Crazy In Love beauty admits her relaxed attitude to her home life means she's always leaving her belongings all over the place. She tells the April (09) issue of Ebony magazine, "I’m a little messy... Whenever I’m out in public, I have to be put together. "When I get home, I rebel against it and I don’t want to take care of anything. I drop it. I’m relaxed. I don’t have any shoes on. No make-up. My purse is in the kitchen. "I think that is most difficult thing for him (Jay-Z). He’s very, very organised. I’m extremely organised when I’m working, and I work so much that when I get home I don’t want to think about anything."

Creating your own spandex-filled video dancing to Beyonce’s hit song Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It) may be a little 2008, but that isn’t stopping Beyonce from holding a video contest in which you can strut your stuff to her hit song. It’s pretty standard UGC contest fare — video yourself doing the dance routine, win cash and have the video shown during her tour — but what’s curious is the submission process. If you enter then you better put a stamp on it, because you have to physically mail in your submission. There is no way to enter via uploads to YouTube or other online outlet.

Beyonce made a surprise appearance at the Oscars, to join host Hugh Jackman for a spectacular medley of showtunes.The pop superstar dazzled onstage at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre wearing a top hat and red sequined leotard and gloves. Knowles and Jackman whizzed through renditions of Top Hat, White Tie And Tails; You're The One That I Want, from Grease; Lady Marmalade; All That Jazz; and Somewhere Over The Rainbow. And they were joined onstage at the end by High School Musical stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens and Mamma Mia!'s Dominic Cooper and Amanda Seyfried for performances of Last Chance and Mamma Mia! from their respective films. The medley was directed by Moulin Rouge filmmaker Baz Luhrmann.

She must be one of the richest celebrities, but Beyonce Knowles has not spent any of her multi-million dollar fortune in buying luxury items like diamonds and cars. The R and B superstar was recently named the richest star under 30 years old, and has an estimated 80 million dollars in the bank. But, when it comes to spending, Beyonce says that she's too frugal to buy fast cars or expensive jewellery, and has invested all her earnings wisely. "Honestly, I'm very frugal. I haven't bought a car since I was 16 or any diamonds since I was 17. I have a lot of property. I've invested my money and I don't have to make any more, thank God, because I'm set," Contactmusic quoted her as saying. She added: "I'm now able really to be free and just do things that make me happy. It's an effort to stay grounded."

E! Online is reporting that Beyonce is among the music talent scheduled to perform for Sunday's Academy Awards ceremony. E! cites sources who claim Beyonce and Oscars host Hugh Jackman had been practicing at the Baryshnikov Arts Center in New York City before the entire lineup of performers began rehearsals last night in Hollywood. "No word yet on what they'll be singing and dancing to," wrote E!'s Marc Malkin. "First-time show producers Laurence Mark and Bill Condon have kept a tight lid on their plans, but have continually stressed that they intend to shake things up on the movie industry's biggest night of the year." The 81st annual Academy Awards will telecast live on ABC from Hollywood's Kodak Theatre.

Frolicking on the beach with Beyoncé is probably high on the list of many people's fantasies. And one lucky man has got to do just that, although admittedly it was while filming her latest music video. Let's hope husband Jay-Z is an easygoing fellow. In the steamy clip, the singer and a companion share a romp in the Malibu surf in scenes inspired by 1953 film From Here To Eternity.

Beyonce Knowles says she is a boring drunk. The singer - who is married to rapper Jay Z - enjoys a glass of wine occasionally, but has a tendency to fall asleep if she has too much alcohol. She said: "Well, I don't drink often. But when I'm drunk, I'm very quiet and I observe and I go to sleep. I don't think I'm much fun." The 27-year-old star also insists she has never been interested in taking drugs. Beyonce added: "I always said I would never do it. I've never seen a person who was high and thought, 'Wow, I want to do that!' I'm like, 'That's cool for them, but no thank you. I'll just have my wine.' " The singer - who has an alter-ego she calls Sasha - often feels people are watching her when she goes to a club to see if she can replicate her high-energy dance routines. She explained to Britain's Cosmopolitan magazine: "Sometimes I'll dance, but I feel like at a party everyone expects me to be Sasha and go out there and run the dance floor."

Beyonce has talked about the pressure to look good and says her mother, Tina Knowles, and her stylists let her know when she needs to cut down on her eating. The Bootylicious singer said she runs around two and-a-half miles every day, but discussed the monotony of dieting with Cosmopolitan magazine. She was asked if anyone has ever told her to eat less. "My stylists mention it when the clothes aren't fitting any more!" she said. "And my mum tells me, yeah... I go through phases. "Right now I'm eating veg and drinking water... it's boring. Usually when I get 5-8lb heavier than my ideal weight, I'll start eating healthily and make an effort to exercise more."

Etta James says she was joking when she said she "can't stand Beyonce" and would "whip" the singer for performing James' hit "At Last" at an inaugural ball for President Barack Obama. The 71-year-old singer tells the New York Daily News she "didn't really mean anything" by her remarks at a concert last week. James says: "Even as a little child, I've always had that comedian kind of attitude. ... That's probably what went into it." Even so, James says it stung that she wasn't asked to sing her most famous song on the historic night. James says she liked Beyonce's version but thinks she could have done a better job. She says it's "a shame to say that." Beyonce portrayed James — and sang the 1941 song written by Mack Gordon and Harry Warren — in the film "Cadillac Records" last year. Beyonce's spokeswoman did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.
