R&B star thinks twice about kids comments (0)
01 Nov 2008 by BorgQueen
Beyonce has postponed her baby plans after learning just how tough motherhood can be from her sister Solange. The 27-year-old singer once claimed that winning an Oscar, getting married and becoming a mom were three things she'd like to cross of her wish list by the time she was 30 - but now she's not so keen on having a kid in the next three years. Knowles, who reportedly married rapper Jay-Z in April, says, "I'd still love to win an Oscar (but) the kids, I dunno." "I've been keeping my nephew and he's the smartest little boy, but he's making it hard. It's a lot of work." But she hasn't ruled out having kids before she turns 30: "In three years, maybe."

It's raining in New York. A hot, muggy, gray rain that splashes in heavy sheets off the line of black Escalades parked outside a photo studio on the West Side. Just a few weeks ago, Hurricane Ike brought far more relentless rains to Houston, destroying the neighborhood where Beyoncé Knowles grew up. Oddly, her favorite memory is tied to a similar meteorological disaster almost 20 years ago. “I never told anyone this story, but we lived by the bayou, and it flooded,” she explains. “My father came to pick me up from school. I thought he was so strong. And he protected me. We had to get out of the car because the water was flooding the streets. He was carrying me around and it was the most fun thing in the world. My arms were around his neck and I was laughing and it was raining, and I was like, this is great! Even though, looking back, I know he was terrified.”

Beyoncé is opening up about her near mental breakdown. In Beyoncé’s first big interview since her media low-key wedding to Jay Z, she reacts to her recent Gotham Magazine cover story which quotes her saying that a couple years ago she was headed towards a breakdown. The singer has backtracked on the Gotham interview: “My life is definitely not perfect…Along with everything great, there are sacrifices…I wouldn’t say I was on the verge of a breakdown. That’s a very strong thing to say.” Was she misquoted? Beyoncé responds, “Maybe. I have been before.”

Beyonce Upstages Jay-Z comments (0)
30 Oct 2008 by BorgQueen
While Lil Wayne, Jay-Z and Ne-Yo rocked the crowd at Power 105's Powerhouse concert Tuesday night in New Jersey, all three were upstaged by a surprise appearance from Beyonce. The singer entered the stage during her husband Jay-Z's set and with two background dancers performed the choreography from her new song, "Single Ladies." Without saying or singing one word, she performed the dance routine from the video in black stretch pants and a black turtleneck, then ended the set by flashing her huge wedding ring before walking off. The other headline of the night was an anticipated joint performance that never happened. Many fans thought that Jay-Z would join Wayne for their duet "Mr. Carter," but Weezy rapped alone on the track. Jay-Z was the evening's last performer and ended his set by reminding the crowd to vote on Nov. 4."This is the most important election ever," he said. "Rosa sat so Martin could walk, Martin walked so Obama could run and Obama is running so we all could fly."

Beyoncé Knowles Shows Off New Clothing Line comments (0)
30 Oct 2008 by BorgQueen
Beyoncé Knowles and her mother Tina appeared for an enthusiastic crowd at Bloomingdale's to launch this season's collection of their new clothing line, "House of Dareon." The mother/daughter pair are making some elegant frocks, inspired by Beyoncé's next film, "Cadillac Records," which opens December 5. "You can see now I have the same neckline I wore in one of the scenes in Etta James and some of the same materials, it's something that's classic and really sexy but still very ladylike," said Beyoncé Knowles. "Beyoncé brings the youth and she brings the rock 'n' roll and funk to the line and of course I'm more traditional and I think it's a great combination," said Tina Knowles.

Kanye West Jumps On Beyoncé’s ‘Ego’ Remix comments (0)
26 Oct 2008 by BorgQueen
Rap-up.com: "Beyoncé’s camp had been working to get Kanye West to appear on her next single “Ego.” It makes sense, right? Well, we can exclusively confirm that the mission has been accomplished. Kanye went into a studio in Brazil this week to record his verse for “Ego.” The rap wasn’t completed in time to make B’s new album, but it will be released as a remix in the near future. “Ego” is slated to be the second urban single off Beyoncé’s highly anticipated third album I Am… Sasha Fierce (Nov. 18). The superstar gets cocky on the club-friendly R&B jam, which was written and produced by Elvis “BlacElvis” Williams and Harold Lilly."

Beyonce Loves The Big Apple comments (0)
26 Oct 2008 by BorgQueen
Southern belle Beyonce Knowles considers New York her adopted hometown - because she feels so at home in the multicultural Big Apple. The Texan R&B singer, who married Brooklyn-born rapper Jay-Z in April, admits she was put off by the stereotype of unfriendly city-dwellers when she first came to Manhattan. But Knowles insists she's become a native through the years. She says, "I am (a New Yorker) now. When I first came here, people weren't friendly and I didn't know where to go. "Now I love it. I enjoy access to foods I never had before, like Cuban or Indian. I love how multicultural it is; you walk down the street and see so many different races. It's (diversity) normal here and abnormal to be closed-minded. That's beautiful."
