Beyonce Knowles' sister Solange gets asked about her sibling so often she tells people they're not related. The singer is constantly questioned about her more famous elder sister, but makes fun of the situation to prevent going "crazy". She says, "I get asked about Beyonce all the time but I try and make fun of it. "Sometimes I say she's not my sister. Other times I say I've stuffed her in my suitcase and sent it to Dubai. "I have to have fun with it or I'll turn in to Britney (Spears) - shave my head and go totally crazy."

Los Angeles, 2006, Photographer Danny Clinch says: Like the Jack and Loretta one, I took this at the Grammys. Of course, I photograph everyone with their Grammy because the Grammy police are there. Then, at the end, if the person's got enough time, I try to get a portrait of them without the Grammy. The thing I remember, and I think I'm being truthful about this, is that Beyoncé came back and her publicist told me ''she doesn't really want to do anything else — but she wants to have her picture taken by you.'' I tried to keep it really simple and elegant. She is as beautiful and cool a person as you will find.

Jay-Z: Why I Won't Confirm My Marriage to Beyoncé comments (0)
08 Aug 2008 by BorgQueen
Jay-Z says privacy is the reason he and Beyonce won't talk about their wedding or marriage. "I just think it's really a part of your life that you gotta keep to yourself," he tells Vibe in their September issue. "You have to have something sacred to you and the people around you," the 38-year-old adds. "I shared so much of my life… I should have something to hold on to." Beyonce, 26, and Jay-Z tied the knot over three months ago in a "very special, very private, very intimate" rooftop ceremony, according to a source close to the pair. He was finally spotted with his wedding ring last week. Beyonce also showed off her wedding ring for the first time on Wednesday, when she saw Jay-Z perform at Madison Square Garden.

L'Oréal: We Didn't Lighten Beyoncé. Honest. comments (0)
08 Aug 2008 by BorgQueen
Looks can be deceiving. Apparently. Yesterday, a new print ad for L'Oréal Paris' Feria hair color surfaced, featuring a seemingly paler than usual Beyoncé Knowles. Today, the French cosmetics giant is adamantly denying that it gave its longtime spokeswoman a case of the Michael Jacksons. "Beyoncé Knowles has been a spokesperson for the L'Oréal Paris brand since 2001," the company said in a statement to E! News, after coming under withering online attacks suggesting the ad lightened more than just the hair color of the brand's famous face. "We highly value our relationship with Ms. Knowles. It is categorically untrue that L'Oréal Paris altered Ms. Knowles' features or skin-tone in the campaign for Feria's hair color." A rep for the 27-year-old Knowles declined to comment beyond the L'Oréal statement. The ad is appearing in this month's Elle, Allure and Essence. So far the magazines have not said anything about possible Pantone issues.

Beyonce flashes her ring in NYC comments (0)
07 Aug 2008 by BorgQueen
Beyonce has finally flashed us a peak of her wedding ring – four months after her nuptials with hubby Jay-Z. The fiercely private singer has hidden her left hand on numerous public outings since her April wedding. But Beyonce let her guard slip at a Kanye West gig in New York yesterday when she employed both hands to hold her handbag aloft, giving us a glimpse – albeit a brief one – of her glittering band. Maybe she thought the huge loops dangling from her ears would steal attention away from the sparkler. She thought wrong...

Jay-Z Finally Wearing Wedding Ring comments (0)
31 Jul 2008 by BorgQueen
Jay-Z donned never-before-seen bling in NYC Wednesday: his wedding ring to Beyonce! The rapper, 38, was spotted wearing the jewelry while leaving his Tribeca apartment, where they wed April 4. Beyonce, 26, and Jay-Z tied the knot over three months ago in a "very special, very private, very intimate" rooftop ceremony, according to a source close to the pair. Famous guests included Destiny's Child singers Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams as well as Gwyneth Paltrow and hubby Chris Martin. Why did they choose the date April 4? They're obsessed with the number! The rapper named his club 40/40 after a baseball term. (If a player hits 40 home runs and steals 40 bases in the same season, it's considered a major coup.) The couple also have matching IV tattoos on their ring fingers, and they were each born on the fourth day of a month (Beyoncé on September 4; Jay-Z, December 4). Are kids next for the couple? "One day I hope to be married with children," the singer told Ellen DeGeneres in 2006. "I don't want to retire at 30, I want to relax," she said. "I still want to make albums and movies, but at a slower pace."

Benz, Brands and Beyonce: A Talk With ICM's Chief comments (0)
27 Jul 2008 by BorgQueen
Take a heaping helping of Hollywood stars and A-list behind-the-camera creative types, add in brands hungering for glamorous clutter-busting cachet, mix well and bake until fabulously successful. But the deals are increasingly complex these days as stars try to hone their own personal brands—with numerous offshoots—and marketers want more from a relationship than a famous face. Goll spoke to Brandweek about the challenges of finding the perfect recipe.
Brandweek: Give a peek into a project you and your team are working on now, and how it's progressing.
Carol Goll: We're talking to brands about Beyonce's 2009 world tour. In addition to significant exposure, brands want experiential marketing opportunities, ways to leverage the association outside the tour, through retail and sweepstakes, products, point-of-purchase materials. We're looking for key brands that make the most sense, and then we start with their marketing strategies and create a custom proposal. The days of sending a sponsor deck are over.

What really makes Beyonce a model of fashion, commercials, role model comments (0)
26 Jul 2008 by BorgQueen
Beyonce Knowles: beautiful celebrity, R&B singer, actress (well, still a beginner) and of course The Model. Let’s talk a bit on the latter, her capacity of modelling. Beyonce Knowles is multi-talented and multi-successful, rich and famous, young and happy. Beyonce is not only a singer, she is fabulous actress and model has become one of the biggest trend setters in the entertainment world nowadays. Music, movies, concerts, beauty commercials, fashion, even life style are their organic environment.
However, Beyonce seems to have successfully avoided (avoided, not escaped) the apparently inevitable spill of rumors, scandals, envy and hate. No one hates her openly, isn’t this the case?
BlackAmericaWeb says Beyonce can sing and dance. She is stylish, admired, and can fulfill “less-than-challenging” roles in movies. She is gorgeous one. Her hair style is a kind of trade mark and has been followed widely. But all that – like many, many others.

"Right now, I have a song with Madonna that I didn't put on her album. I saved [it] in case I wanna do one for me," he told MTV News. "Of course I'mma do one with Beyoncé. Of course I'mma do one with Jordin Sparks, Rihanna. It's a lot of people. I'mma do one with Jonas Brothers. I'mma try to have 10 major ones." He'll also incorporate rappers into his lineup, he says. T. Pain has signed on, while T.I. and Jay-Z may also make appearances. "Jay was really on the last one, but he wanted to change [the song]," he said. "I said, 'Look, man, I gotta put out an album. You're killing me.' "
