Cometics deals ruin Beyonce Knowles' shopping hobby comments (0)
18 Sep 2006 by BorgQueen
Endorsing the beauty products of some of the world's top cosmetics firms have wrecked singer Beyonce Knowles' passion of buying toiletries at bargain stores, as she can't aford to be seen spending on rival products. The former Destiny's Child singer admits she didn't think her career choices would ruin her shopping hobby at US stores like Target and Walgreens. However, she insists that now she has to be careful what she buys. "I love going to Target and Walgreens. You go in there and you buy the whole store. It's like, 'I've just come in here to get everything.' I buy a lot of things I'll never use," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying. "(I buy) a lot of toiletries. It's hard now (because) I can't go. I see L'Oreal and my face is right there," she added.

Beyonce's jealous sister destroyed her trophies when they were kids comments (0)
18 Sep 2006 by BorgQueen
Beyonce Knowles can better tell what it feels like when a younger sibling also wants to be a winner like you, as her jealous sister had destroyed all the trophies the 'RandB' star had won as a child. The former Destiny's Child singer revealed that her younger sister Solange Knowles destroyed all the top prizes she had won at various pageants and talent contests in her childhood. "I came home one day and I touched it (an award) and it completely just crumbled because my sister was like, 'I want a trophy,' Ratethemusic quoted her as saying. "She went in there with a screwdriver and took it apart," she said.

Beyonce Knowles' mobile phone ban! comments (0)
18 Sep 2006 by BorgQueen
While 'mobile phones' have certainly made us more accessible, not many seem to be pleased with this. Pop singer Beyonce Knowles is one such person who doesn't like to be reached, as she wants to live her life without any disturbance. The R and B superstar admits she hates her cell phone so much that she insists her record label and management only call her on it once a week. Other than that, the singer has only given out her number to four special people who are only allowed to call her in an emergency. "I have a BlackBerry and maybe four people have the number and I do text message occasionally... I like to not be reached," Ratethemusic quoted the former Destiny's Child singer, as saying. "I have weekly phone calls with my record label and with my management, who is my father, and we have these hour-long conferences and that's usually on Monday and for the rest of the week I don't wanna be harassed because I wanna live my life," she added.

Beyonce Cried For Real In Angry Video comments (0)
18 Sep 2006 by BorgQueen
Beyonce's tears in her new Ring The Alarm video are for real - because the scenes reminded her of the heartaches she used to get emotional for her character in new movie Dreamgirls. The girl power anthem features a segment where Beyonce's video character mourns the loss of a loved one - and the quiet scene overwhelmed the singer. But the cameras kept rolling and she insisted the scenes stayed in the video. She says, "The video is so angry and aggressive and then there's like this really vulnerable bridge and it's really quiet. I cried in the video. "I'd been doing Dreamgirls and I had to do emotional scenes and I was thinking about the same things that I had to think about in Dreamgirls."

Beyonce reveals her beauty secret comments (0)
18 Sep 2006 by BorgQueen
While she has recently signed lucrative deals with some top cosmetics firms, it seems she hardly uses any on her own face, for Beyoncé Knowles recently revealed her top beauty tip for perfect skin is to never wash your face with soap or cleansers. The beautiful singer-turned-actress doesn't wash her face with anything except plain water to keep her skin flawless. "I don't wash my face with soaps or put on lotions. It's the truth," Femalefirst quoted her, as telling Top of the Pops magazine. Beyoncé, who is rumoured to be tying the knot with her rap star boyfriend Jaz-Z in November, also insists that eating the right foods and not nibbling on calorific snacks also makes the skin look beautiful. "I think eating healthily and staying away from bad food is also important," she said.

Beyonce's big start paces rare gain for 2006 sales comments (0)
18 Sep 2006 by BorgQueen
Turns out Beyonce's birthday is not just a celebration for the singer, but for the whole music industry. The No. 1 bow by her second solo album, "B'Day," also signals the first time in four months that album sales beat those of the comparable 2005 sales week. Released September 5, the day after her 25th birthday, it opens with 541,000 copies, 59 percent more than the 317,000 first-week sales that greeted her first solo album, "Dangerously in Love," in 2003. There was only one period in the seven-album career of her group, Destiny's Child, when she had a larger sales week: Third set "Survivor" began at 663,000 in May 2001.

Beyonce Stunned by Hilarious Tyra Take-Off comments (0)
17 Sep 2006 by BorgQueen
Model-turned-TV presenter Tyra Banks had pal Beyonce Knowles in hysterics during a recent taping of her daily talk show when she filmed herself shopping in Los Angeles as the former Destiny's Child diva. explaining she's often mistaken as Beyonce, Banks hit public restrooms and stores in a blonde wig, mimicking the pop star's moves and recreating the singer's “Déjà vu” video on the street. Fun-loving Tyra employed fellow shoppers at mall The Grove, where she shot the hilarious segment, to hold up a cut-out of Knowles' boyfriend Jay-Z, who appears in the video. Banks also wore replicas of the outfits her guest donned for the provocative video. Beyonce was left in fits of giggles after the skit, which aired on yesterday's Tyra show, telling the retired model, "That was hilarious." Click HERE to watch Tyra's version of “Déjà vu”.

A nervous Beyonce is relieved with early success of new album comments (0)
15 Sep 2006 by BorgQueen
Beyonce Knowles was nearly dumbstruck Thursday when, shortly after arriving in Toronto, she realized she was in the country where she and her Destiny's Child bandmates got their start - and found their end as a group. "Canada is memorable to me because my very first tour with Destiny's Child was in Canada with Wyclef (Jean) and at the time we were in a little minivan ... and we were the happiest kids in the world," she said, reminiscing in her posh hotel room, her jeans-clad legs curled up on the couch. Then she smiled, remembering the group that she formed when she was just nine also performed their very last concert together in Vancouver just last September.

Pop superstar Beyonce's second solo album, B'Day, has just entered the Billboard Top 200 best-selling albums chart at #1 with true first week's sales of 541,196, according to SoundScan. (The pop superstar's first solo album, 2003's Grammy-winning "Dangerously In Love," also debuted in the #1 slot, with true first week's sales of 316,846.) The #1 US chart debut of B'Day was mirrored in Japan, where the album rocketed up the international album chart in a record-breaking 2-1/2 days after its worldwide release on September 4, Beyonce's birthday. The international pop music icon most recently topped around the world with "Deja Vu" (featuring Jay-Z), the first single from B'Day.

"You ain't never seen a fire like the one I'ma cause," sings Beyonce on her new, siren-blowing single "Ring the Alarm." And judging by her blazing second solo CD, who could argue with Miss B? Even better than 2003's Dangerously In Love, B'Day - which arrives on Sept. 5, the day after Beyonce's 25th birthday - celebrates her ever-growing confidence as a singer-songwriter and producer. Having called it quits with Destiny's Child last year, she is a fully independent woman now, and you can hear it on beat-driven tracks boasting more soul, more sass, and more sex appeal. "Get Me Bodied" is a fat-bottomed club banger set to a hand-clapping groove, while the ladies' anthem "Freekum Dress" finds Beyoncé working all her bootylicious powers over some slamming funk. Best, though, is "Deja Vu," one of two cuts on which she teams with rapper beau Jay-Z. Against a jazzy hip-hop backdrop punctuated with Earth, Wind, & Fire-esque horns, he plays it cool, she turns up the heat, and sparks fly. Never discussing marriage protects Beyonce's relationship comments (1)
12 Sep 2006 by BorgQueen
Beyonce Knowles has revealed that she and her beau Jay-Z have never discussed marriage, as they believe not discussing it helps protect their relationship. "It's a part of my job. We've never talked about it and it's kind of protected our relationship. I think it's kind of kept us out of a lot of drama in the tabloids. Even though we're still in them, it's not as much as some celebrities." During her appearance on a US chat show 'The View' on Monday (11 Sept), Beyonce also said that she does not consider constant questions of her fans about their marriage plans to be barbs, as she herself has been a fan of many celebrities. "It doesn't drive me crazy. I understand. I was a fan of other celebrities and I wanted to know (if they were getting married). I was interested," she said. When asked if she's ever considered trying her luck in rap genre and Jay-Z in singing, she said, "Oh, no, never! I'm like the worst rapper and he's not a great singer!"

Beyonce's new album worth celebrating comments (0)
12 Sep 2006 by BorgQueen
In Beyonce's second solo album, one determined woman with a powerful, inspirational voice results in unstoppable greatness. Celebrating life to the fullest, Beyonce expresses her strong heartfelt emotions with relatable lyrics, dance worthy beats and, of course, her man, Jay-Z. What's not to like? Already established when it comes to making a well-built album, Beyonce set herself in seclusion during the album's production, laying out tracks in secret. Maybe all artists should follow a similar mindset if it would help them to produce an album like this one. If there was ever a doubt about purchasing Beyonce's "B'day" album, let it be said, there shouldn't be. Beyonce delivers her whole heart, pouring out influential lyrics, making it relatable to all her listeners. The entire album is worth buying, wearing out and buying again.

Beyonce Knowles paid tribute to his adoptive mother, the legendary Josephine Baker, performing one of Baker's numbers wearing her trademark banana miniskirt. The restaurateur spent hours with Knowles before Thursday's taping going over images and recollections of Baker, even lending her his original 1920s posters for the performance backdrop.

Beyonce Hits Milestone - ABC News Interview comments (0)
07 Sep 2006 by BorgQueen
She can shake her hips and belt out a tune with the best of them, but there's more to Beyonce than meets the eye. At 25, Beyonce has grown up, and her music has, too. In a recent interview with "Good Morning America's" Diane Sawyer, the hip-hop and pop-music princess revealed the legends and history that had influenced her new album, "B'Day." "I wanted to be more like Josephine Baker, because she didn't, she seemed like she just was possessed and it seemed like she just danced from her, her heart, and everything was so free," she said. Baker — a famous Parisian dancer of the 1920s — advocated equal rights and refused to perform in segregated nightclubs. Beyonce echoed her beliefs. "This record sounds like a woman possessed. It sounds like a woman that is kind of desperate, and I wanted it to just come from the soul. I just did whatever happened there," she said. Read more and watch the interview HERE.

Beyonce dreamed of perfecting ballet comments (0)
06 Sep 2006 by BorgQueen
Beyonce Knowles recently realized she wasn't the dancing talent she always hoped she was. So, she felt really disappointed of herself. As Contactmusic mentions, the pop superstar has always dreamed of perfecting ballet and figured she'd be a natural because she has been dancing all her life. "I'd like to learn how to do pointe, ballet dance. I went to have lessons... and I'm thinking, 'I dance, I'll be able to hang.' So I didn't tell anybody it was me, I went and got on my tights, I walked in and I was completely embarrassed. I was horrible, terrible... I'm too old... You have to start when you're, like, five years old", revealed Beyonce. Hitting 25, Knowles has a list of things she wants to try before she turns 30. "I wanna learn Arabic. It's very hard, I tried. And I wanna learn how to cook... and I wanna learn how to skydive", she said.

Beyonce denies publicity over-kill comments (0)
06 Sep 2006 by BorgQueen
Beyonce has hit out at suggestions her media drive to promote second album B'Day is jeopardising new movie Dreamgirls. The former DC frontwoman stars as Deena Jones in the highly anticipated musical - which also features Jamie Foxx and Eddie Murphy - but Paramount Pictures producers reportedly fear the public will be fed up with her by the time it's released in December (06). Knowles originally scheduled to launch her record after the movie hit cinemas, but brought it forward to coincide with her birthday this week and sparked a blaze of publicity. A studio insider tells the New York Daily News, "Beyonce's oversaturation in the marketplace has thrown a major monkey wrench in the Dreamgirls rollout campaign. "It will take away from the anticipation of the Dreamgirls soundtrack. She has left Paramount with not a lot of options for rolling out this film." However, her spokesman Alan Nierob insists, "I guarantee you that the publicity campaign for the film is in place, and nothing relating to the publicity for her solo album has affected that campaign."

Beyonce thrilled by first dance teacher comments (0)
06 Sep 2006 by BorgQueen
Beyonce held back tears when US TV presenter Ellen DeGeneres served up a pre-birthday surprise on her TV show - the dance teacher who gave the star her first encouragement. DeGeneres invited Darlette Johnson to join her and Knowles in Central Park, New York when she taped a special birthday show with the pop superstar last month (AUG06). The show aired in the US yesterday (05SEP06) - a day after Beyonce turned 25. The singer cooed about 'Miss Darlette', telling host DeGeneres she was the first person to spot her talents and put her on the stage before the proud, sobbing dance teacher showed up onstage. Johnson explained, "She was at the studio and she was the last one and her parents always came to get her, to pick her up, and I was just kinda sweeping around... and I was singing a song out of tune and Beyonce finished the song for me and she hit a note and I said, 'Sing it again.' "She was a very shy girl. She was maybe about six or seven and her parents came to pick her up, I said, 'She can sing! She really can sing.' They let me put her in some singing competitions and dance competitions and it's been history since." A thrilled Beyonce said, "I can't believe she's here."

Beyonce Knowles: Queen B comments (0)
03 Sep 2006 by BorgQueen
After leading the biggest girl group of all time, Beyoncé is now a Grammy-winning solo artist, with a burgeoning film career and a superstar boyfriend. Simon Gage discovers the steely ambition behind her Southern charm. "I would rather eat than go away somewhere on vacation," giggles Beyoncé , the woman who is always said to be healthily chunky - or " bootylicious", to quote one of her own songs - but who is really as slim as a biscuit up close. "If I could stay home and eat whatever I wanted, it would be equivalent to me being on a beach and getting sun." She takes it further. "I'd rather eat than shop." The woman has clearly lost it. "Oh, absolutely!"

Autralian 'B'Day' review comments (0)
03 Sep 2006 by BorgQueen
Beyonce makes a stunning return with her second solo album 'B'Day'. Emotionally sophisticated with muscular rhythms, banging beats and lyrics that are grown, smart and just flat out sexy, Beyonce says 'B'Day' is "by far the best thing I've ever done". Keep an ear out for the bonus track 'Check On It' featuring Slim Thug, her next big single 'Irreplaceable', plus the very cool hidden track 'Listen' taken from the soundtrack to Beyonce's upcoming film 'Dreamgirls' (to be released this December).

Phase 1: Mega-singing success with girl group. Check. Phase 2: Soaring solo career. Check. Now Beyoncé tackles the big screen in `Dreamgirls' with no less than Oscar in her sights. Beyonce walked out of her dressing room with a barely there black outfit, glossy lips and spiked heels and took her place between the camera and a plain white screen inside corporate offices disguised for the day as a high-fashion music video site. She smiled and nodded to the director. Music began to blare, and the singer pretended to belt out her new song — just another day at the office for one of pop's biggest stars. But then a funny thing happened. Read the full story HERE.

Beyonce and Jay-Z make beautiful music 'naturally'! comments (0)
02 Sep 2006 by BorgQueen
They don't have to formally sit together to compose a track, for it's the chemistry between musical couple Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z,which helps them create music naturally. Knowles and the hip-hop star whose real name is Shawn Carter, have recorded 'Crazy In Love', 'Bonnie & Clyde and her latest track 'Deja Vu together, but she insists that the duets aren't planned and Jay-Z just added his rap to 'Dij' vu' after she recorded it. "This record I had completed and I let him listen just to get his opinion and his lips started mumbling and his mind started thinking and he just thought of the 16 bars of the rap. So I said, 'OK, lets go to the studio,' and he laid it down," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying. "We never try to sit down and write a song together. It's never forced. I made it - finished it - and then he has an dea... or he has a record and I'll say can I sing on this record? I would be really nervous writing for another artist," she added.

Beyoncé hosts a VMA party at the 40/40 Club Thursday night comments (0)
01 Sep 2006 by BorgQueen
At the 40/40 Club, where Beyoncé was having a 25th birthday party, getting in was equally hectic. Steel barricades held people back, and those who felt they had the juice to get in without waiting in line tried to walk to the door, but were blocked by police officers and bodyguards who yelled so loud, they made the late, great Sam Kinison sound sheepish.

Beyonce stuns at the VMAs comments (0)
01 Sep 2006 by BorgQueen
Beyonce stole the show at last night's MTV Video Music Awards with a jaw-dropping performance of her new record. The superstar showed off her sexy new image as she performed new girl power anthem Ring The Alarm. Initially wearing a full-length trenchcoat, like her angry character in the RTA video, Beyonce performed a stunning dance routine with 10 lookalikes before revealing a basque outfit underneath. The R&B queen won a standing ovation as she finished the performance in the fetching patent leather outfit on a hydraulic stage high above the audience. The 24-year-old Texan belle took home the gong for best R&B video. I've added over 200 photos from the event. Click on the images below to get to the gallery.

Beyonce, raising her voice comments (0)
01 Sep 2006 by BorgQueen
Early success can breed great pressure and greater expectations, as musical prodigies from Mozart to Michael Jackson have learned. So as Beyoncé Knowles approaches her 25th birthday, the former Destiny's Child ingénue is determined not to disappoint. On Tuesday, the day after she hits the quarter-century mark, Knowles unveils a sophomore solo CD titled, logically enough, B'Day. In December, fans can watch her tackle her most high-profile and dramatically challenging film role to date in the much-ballyhooed screen adaptation of the 1981 Broadway musical Dreamgirls.

Not the day of her birth, but rather her highly anticipated new album, hitting stores September 5. From the girl next door at the recording studio to getting uber-glam for a photo shoot, the multi-talented star -- in an ET exclusive -- shows off all her best sides as she lets fans behind the scenes of the album-making process. "It's a celebration of a woman that finds her voice, knows who she is and what she wants," Beyoncé says on the clip that you can see in its entirety on www.amazon.com. "It's all big anthems." Beyoncé explains how this is a departure from her previous albums. "Dangerously In Love was about love and this is really more about empowering women," she says. "It's really strong."

Harder Sound, Aggressive Songs Among B'Day's Gifts comments (0)
31 Aug 2006 by BorgQueen
As one of the biggest artists to emerge in the past 15 years, Beyoncé Knowles is inhabiting a hemisphere where greatness is just considered good enough, and sometimes fans' expectations border on the unreasonable. So B'Day, which comes on the heels of her quadruple-platinum solo debut Dangerously in Love — which won her five Grammy Awards in 2004 — has a tough act to follow. The album's lead cut "Deja Vu," a dynamite hybrid of soul and hip-hop, has already come under fire as being a less effective pairing with boyfriend Jay-Z than their last collaboration, the blockbuster single "Crazy in Love." Despite the criticism, the track has been filling dance floors and hit #1 on two of Billboard's singles charts. But what about the rest of B'Day?

Beyonce T-shirt targets Kate Moss comments (0)
31 Aug 2006 by BorgQueen
It doesn't look like Beyonce thinks much of Kate Moss. The singer hit the streets of New York in a T-shirt that featured a black and white photo of Kate under the words "Good Gone Bad". An onlooker said: "Maybe she was trying to tell Kate something. "It was pretty funny." Beyonce, 24, was filming a special episode of US chat show The Ellen DeGeneres Show in New York's Central Park. The chart star belted out several hits on an open-air stage before sitting down for an interview with host Ellen DeGeneres. Later the crowd sang Happy Birthday to the Austin Powers actress, who turns 25 years old on September 4. The Moss T-shirt was by designer Hellz Bellz.

Beyonce Struggles To Maintain Her Independence comments (0)
29 Aug 2006 by BorgQueen
R&B beauty Beyonce Knowles struggles to maintain her independence from boyfriend Jay-Z, because she has fallen so deeply in love with the rapper. The former Destiny's Child star knew she had to take a step back from her relationship when she started to do things she had never contemplated before. But she managed to stop herself from becoming too reliant on Jay-Z by reassessing the relationship and focusing on her blossoming solo career. She says, "Sometimes you fall so much in love that you start doing things you wouldn't normally do, and you're so into this person that they have control over you." "But I think it's important to still know who your are and what you want out of life - that's how you have a healthy relationship."

Beyonce wants, and gets, her MTV at Video Music Awards comments (0)
28 Aug 2006 by BorgQueen
Beyonce and the MTV Video Music Awards go together, particularly when she's unveiling a new album. A veteran of many past editions, the superstar knows how big a showcase the annual ceremony is for new music, so she was among the first to sign up to perform on the 2006 VMAs. MTV televises the event Thursday, Aug. 31, from Radio City Music Hall in New York, with Jack Black as host. Other scheduled performers include Justin Timberlake, Ludacris, hip-hop star T.I., Panic! at the Disco (whose "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" is up for five VMAs) and the Killers. "The last time I performed at the VMAs, it helped tremendously with my record," Beyonce says. "(The single) 'Baby Boy' was just coming out, and it took the album to another level. It was just as important, and just as memorable, as the video. It was a really significant moment in my career."

Mathew Knowles steps up to defend his daughter against rumors, online petitions and hateration Beyonce as she fumbles her sophomore effort B'Day.It is apparent that there is a consistent plan by some to create chaos around Beyonce's B-Day album release on Sept 5 in the US. First, it was a petition against the single, “Deja vu”, then a rumor regarding conflict between Beyonce and Rihanna, seizures caused by the "Ring the Alarm" video, putting out a single to compete with LeToya's album and now to add to all the ridiculous rumors, is my plan to postpone the release of her B-Day album. Beyonce stuns as Stone in her new video comments (0)
22 Aug 2006 by BorgQueen
Beyonce recreates Sharon Stone's famous Basic Instinct interrogation scene in her angry new video Ring The Alarm and then lets fans see her at her lowest point. Acting the part of a spurned lover in the new promo, the R+B queen appears before a police panel, sitting on a chair and wearing a white dress just like Stone's Catherine Tramellcharacter did for her provocative crotch spot in 1992. But Beyonce isn't pushing the bounds of decency - when she crosses and uncrosses her legs, video viewers will see nothing. The interrogation scenes aren't the most shocking in the video, however - shots of a make-up-free Beyonce on the verge of tears are sure to stir up more emotions among fans. And for her lusty male devotees, the former DC singer adopts a ponytail look for angry scenes in which she's apprehended by military police. Wearing nothing but a loosely-buttoned overcoat and knee-length leather boots, the sexy singer almost pops out of her costume as she angrily fires off at the cops.

She’s one of the most successful singers in the music industry, but Beyonce Knowles admits that she feels the pangs of jealousy when she hears a great song by one of her rivals. "When I hear a great new record, especially when it's by someone that I respect and admire, then a part of me is like, 'Why didn't I think of that? Why didn't I make that record?'" "I want to personally respond to the report on Vibe.com about my next single, “Ring The Alarm.” I am very proud of this song and I believe the video is one of the best I have ever done. I am excited about its premiere on YAHOO tomorrow (8/16). It’s energetic, aggressive and filled with hard beats and I can’t wait for my fans to see it. I always believed this would be a powerful song. My thoughts about releasing “Green Light” and “Get Me Bodied” was to go first to the international market, but the vibrancy of “Ring The Alarm” is something I wanted the whole word to see and hear right now. “Green Light” and “Get Me Bodied” are definite single contenders, but right now it’s all about “Ring The Alarm.” -Beyonce
